Intention & Detail

Individually composed coque feathers, Abalone shell

Below the Blue is centered with an abalone shell, its surface shifting between deep blue, green, and violet as light moves across it.

From this center, individually placed coque feathers are arranged in a controlled, inward composition. Each feather is set with intention, building density through repetition and direction rather than expansion.

The structure is contained. Feathers overlap and layer to create depth that pulls the eye inward, holding it there. There are no outward extensions. Everything moves toward the center.

The abalone shell becomes the only point of light. Its iridescence reveals flashes of color before settling back into shadow, creating contrast within the darkness.

Below the Blue moves past the visible. Past the blue. Into something deeper.

Beauty below the black, beyond the void.
