OUR STORY

About Honey & Papa

Honey & Papa is a modern design house rooted in legacy, intention, and emotional artistry. The brand was created to offer more than décor. Each piece is designed to transform the atmosphere of a room and reflect the identity of the person who lives in it. Our work merges emotional design with timeless craftsmanship, blending cultural symbolism, natural materials, and elevated luxury.

Rooted in Love

Our Muse

Jeffrey “Papa” Chandler of Barbados and Lilly “Honey” Chandler of Tortola began a love story in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, that would one day inspire a legacy. They first crossed paths in 1966, when Papa saw Honey working in a local restaurant and felt an instant recognition. Nearly a year later, an unexpected double date reunited them, turning a chance encounter into the beginning of a lifelong bond.

From that evening forward, they were inseparable. On May 20, 1968, they married and built a life grounded in partnership, resilience, and devotion. Through every triumph and challenge, their commitment only deepened, shaping a relationship defined by patience, understanding, and enduring love.

Honey & Papa is created in celebration of the values they still embody today. The craftsmanship behind each piece carries the spirit of their partnership and the belief that love, intention, and beauty are traditions worth passing down. Their story lives at the heart of the brand, inspiring heirloom-quality work designed to honor heritage and elevate the home.

Our Founder

Our Artist

Monae Catherine is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is shaped by intuition, memory, and the vibrant cultural influences of her Caribbean upbringing. From an early age, she explored music, dance, storytelling, and visual art, discovering how emotion could be translated into texture, movement, and form. These early explorations evolved into a distinct artistic voice that now defines her work at Honey & Papa.

Monae’s artistry centers on creating pieces that feel alive. She is known for blending feathers, natural elements, and symbolic embellishments into sculptural compositions that embody both softness and strength. Her process is deeply immersive, beginning with a feeling she seeks to capture and unfolding through layers of intention and design.

Art That Transforms

Our Philosophy

Moods are handcrafted, feathered wall compositions that blend cultural heritage with modern design. Inspired in part by the traditional juju hats of Cameroon and the symbolic use of feathers throughout Caribbean art and celebration, each Mood reinterprets these influences through a refined, sculptural lens.

Created through an intentional layering process, Moods are designed to sculpt and elevate the atmosphere of a room. They bring definition to spaces that feel incomplete and introduce a sense of identity where walls might otherwise remain empty or uninspired. By giving form to energy, story, and memory, Moods become dimensional anchors that shape how a space feels and functions.

Through texture, structure, color, and scale, Moods add depth and character to interiors, offering an elevated sculptural presence for those seeking art that transforms a space rather than simply occupies it.
